Hello to those who are also members of the Substack Community! I’m excited to start connecting with you all. Because I’m new to Substack, I wanted to post a little introduction. If you’re on Substack too, give me a follow!
I am a writer and artist (alongside my unrelated fulltime day job) currently living and working in the Washington D.C. area. I enjoy playing with the light and the dark, and losing myself in music, anything outside, and some words here and there. I dabble in a variety of visual art forms, particularly photography, linocut printmaking, and drawing. I also play drum set in a big band jazz group. I’m published in a number of literary magazines, journals, and anthologies in print and online with Washington Writers Publishing House, the Maryland Literary Review, the Mid-Atlantic Review, Flapper Press, Pride Poems, The Hill Rag, Herstry, and many more. I received Best of the Net and Pushcart Prize nominations for my poetry in 2025. My first book is forthcoming with Plan B Press.
I hope to use Substack to share what’s new with me, but also to engage with other writers, artists, and passionate people. Let us always find time to appreciate what’s beautiful, find joy in shared experiences, choose dialogue over diatribe, counter malice with curiosity, and remember compassion.
